One of my primary source is a movie named “not on less”directed by Zhang Yimou in 1998. This movie describes the situation of education in rural and poverty area of China . The whole cast is real and ordinary people based on the book Raise The Red Lantern by Shi Xiangsheng. The volunteer of Wei Mingzhi who is 13 years old wants to be a teacher instead of teacher Gao in Shuiquan primary school.The reason of teacher Gao have to back home is that his mother is very sick.The job Wei Mingzhi should take care of all students and not one less. Because there were losing thirty to forty students every year who cannot afford the tuition fees.Fianancial problem decides whether the students go to school.Depending on Wei has no education experience.The situation is not under control. Students are playing games in classroom everyday.Only thing she does every day which is counting students.However, one day one of the students,Zhang Huike, is missing.Because she has very poor family and owes money. So she has to work out of home for making money to support family even she is a junior student.Wei Mingzhi is anxious when she know the student out of the school.She is on the way alone to find Zhang in the big city.In big city ,she looks for Zhang everywhere including the schools.She finds the bigger difference between city and village.There are great facility and excellent teachers.And the playground is forth times Shuiquan primary school.Finally,she find the Zhang and convinced her back to school.The movie is happiness and inspiration.

Cold reading

I used to watch many TV online. And one of the interesting things I have learnt is cold reading. It was showed in Hustle (2005), a BBC series about a group of thieves in London. In Series 2 Episode 1, Albert Stroller and Danny Blue mentioned using cold reading in order to achieve their business purpose. They observe express details such as people’s dressing habits, ages, sexual orientation, race, etc. In the Hustle the actor shows by observing a man’s finger that have the trail of a ring conjectured that the man has just break up with his wife. So that he has topic to discuss. Cold reading can help people make friends and make people feel bonded quickly. By using this method people can use to pick up with beautiful girls. Consultant can use it to make a bond with the customers and gain their trust. Teachers can tell by reading the body language of students to tell whether they are telling the truth. Business man can use it to explore human resources. And lawyers can use it to find entry point to debate with adversary. So by digging in to this field can really improve many people’s life.

    One of my primary sources is the 2004 song “We Don’t Care” by Kanye West. Its lyrics discuss the struggle of the lower class and their goal of reaching riches. It contains many references to how drugs and crime permeate the lives of poor people, simply because they are so desperate to advance to a higher class. It also discusses political issues, such as the minimum wage, welfare, and education in America. I believe Kanye made this song to tell his side of the story, as many news outlets portray poor communities in a bad light. He is simply trying to explain his thoughts on the poor in America and why they have such a struggle trying to get to a higher place in the social hierarchy. Another detail is that Kanye realizes his audience is extremely broad and he can reach a large swath of society. Therefore, he is trying to create lyrics that both the poor and rich can relate to. The poor may appreciate how they may be able to relate to what he is saying. The rich might appreciate hearing what they are doing wrong according to Mr. West. However, this song also may inspire conflict. The upper class might not take well to the lyrics that imply they do not care about the lower class. The lower class may not like the many drug references and the way Kanye seems to stereotype the entire group of poor people. Poor people who made their way to wealth legitimately may take offense to Kanye’s implication that drugs are the only way out of poverty.  

Education in China

China is a developing country and everything is going the ideal way. However, there are many problems and conflict thus occurred. I am much interested in education part which is important component of our life. Education is self-enlighten, purposeful and organized process. The education gives us the knowledge about the world. We learn how to read and how to write. The most important part we learned is how to be good person. In china; the citizens must attend school at least nine years. The government provides the primary education from six years old for six year, and then followed by six years secondary education which including the junior school and high school. Citizens have right to finish the junior school; after that you can choose to receive the higher education or go to work. Our parents always think about sending the children to the best school to receive the better quality education. But China has a large amount of population and land area. There are limited good schools in each area. Rich family is easier to send children to good public school or private school because they have social relations and enough money. This will result in unfair for some families especially those poor families cannot afford children go to school. For example, the student will give up when gets the offer from good school but the family cannot afford it. The limited education resource and the unclear education policy lead to the migrant worker family hard to find school. Some small town does not have school. It is a dream for children to go to school.

Even the different social class and the imbalance education resource influence children receive education. We still believe that the education system will become more perfect. We are working on this.

Retirement in America

      The word pension is a word that my generation will not be experiencing for the most part. As opposed to the older generations, people of my age mostly will not be receiving a guaranteed income when they retire. This is due to budget constrictions and other reasons, yet we aren’t seeing the effects of this lack of guaranteed income quite yet. Related to this, the social security system is in shambles, and it is debatable as to how long the system will be around financially. One thing that I am interested in is how pronounced this lack of guaranteed income will affect my generation. I believe that it will be another crisis when my generation hits retirement age. This recession has many people living paycheck to paycheck, with a lot of Americans not putting away any money for retirement. In the past, many people could rely on pensions and social security to supplement their retirement income, or in some cases to act as their full retirement income. With these hard economic times however, people are not saving for retirement, and I think it is probable that a lot of people will be relying wholly on social security as their retirement income. This will result in a disaster because the social security fund is only meant to supplement retirement, and also because politicians are struggling to agree on what to do to keep the system afloat. Therefore, I wonder what, if anything, will be done to prevent this problem, and also if this situation will be as much of a problem as I am predicting.

      Relating this to class warfare, it is debatable about whether pensions are a waste or a plus in today’s society. Some may believe that they encourage people to not take charge of their own retirement, while other people believe pensions should be budgeted to reward people for having tenure at a certain company or organization. 

International students searching for living in US

The unemployment rate in USA has reached 9.1% in august(Data from: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).
In the down economy, the university's budget and fee got cut. This may affect students on many things, such as searching for jobs, raising the tuition of international students. There are so many limits for international students to fight against nations of America. They don't have work-study opportunity, they don't have financial aid or education loans, they don't have the green card to work out of campus. Even they can work on campus, there working time got limits up to 20 hours. This is really happening to our life, I have a friend who got green card recently. And he only paid about a hundred dollars for the tuition instead of 8700 dollars. He just need to pay his loan ten years later which the inflation rate is so high these years. Another friend of mine Oscar just graduated from OSU this summer in accounting major, he said many 500 fortune companies don't accept international students. He couldn't even get the chance to the interview. But he finally found a full time job in ohio health-get paid for 1700 dollars a month. His working visa will expire in a year, after that he may have to go back to his own country or some company willing to apply H1B for him. He decided to learn GMAT and apply for a graduate school next year, so that he could get the F1 visa to stay in America. The policies against international students makes us so desperate willing to try every way to stay in America.
